What a great, fun ride with some challenging climbs! The weather was perfect, way warmer than last year. I was only cold for about the first half hour. I felt strong THE WHOLE WAY! I averaged 14.7 miles per hour, 6 hours and 46 minutes of riding time. Overall time was 7 hours, 57 minutes (8 rest stops with one for lunch).I made noticeable improvements. I didn't record my time from last year, but I know I rode considerably faster (at least one mile per hour average). I also felt stronger this year. I remember last year feeling pretty drained and questioning my ability to complete an Ironman.
My focus was on my bike form and my pedaling power, striving for bike "blending" and "effortless power." It's working!
